All while learning how to preform their martial arts moves with strong effort and great attitude. Allowing them to transfer that same determination to other challenges in their life.[/text_block]

Many kids struggle with learning how to express disagreement without being rude or angry.
Our program teaches kids to speak up without disrupting others, and to figure out ways to resolve their challenges within the confines of the program’s structure.[/text_block]

My child isn’t a good sport. Will they learn how handle defeat in the program?
Yes. It’s normal for kids to experience setbacks when they study martial arts. Some moves may require repeated effort to master, and the process teaches kids to handle disappointment and failure.
Will the program help my child be braver in the face of adversity?
Yes. One of the core skills we teach is courage, which requires kids to dodge targets. While the targets won’t hurt them, they show kids that they can face opposition and still succeed.
My child is a little aggressive will this program make him more aggressive?
No. Our program teaches kids how to be less aggressive. When they become more confident in themselves they won’t have to be aggressive.

My child is shy and a sweetheart. Will this program make him aggressive?
No. Our program will helps kids come out of their “shell” but does not turn them into the next RAMBO or Bruce Lee! 🙂
My child lacks physical agility and struggles to retain control of their body. Will this program help?
Yes. Kids at this age still have some issues with fine motor skills, and we know that they’ll have trouble with some of the moves we teach at first. Our goal is to help them gain control and build strength and agility.

Our curriculum is specifically designed with kids from ages seven to twelve in mind. We want to challenge them without overwhelming them – and our instructors know how to motivate them and keep them on track. They’ll learn to accept challenges, not run from them.

Now, Tri-Star Martial Arts Academy offers classes in an eclectic martial arts for both adults and children. The style taught at Tri-Star Martial Arts has a traditional base of karate but uses a mix of styles, including Tang Soo Do, kickboxing, grappling, and Haganah. This mix has been developed by Duane over the years to make sure that the style he teaches is comprehensive.
The classes at Tri-Star Martial Arts Academy have three areas of emphasis: self defense, physical fitness, and character development. The physical fitness piece teaches timing, speed, coordination, balance, strength, and more, while the incorporated character development focuses on confidence and respect for self and others. Nearly 80% of the students at Tri-Star Martial Arts Academy are children, but adult classes are offered for adults who want to get in shape and learn self-defense and self-control.
We proudly serve Kankakee, Bradley, Bourbonnais, Manteno and the surrounding comunities teaching karate and martial arts classes to ages 3 and up![/text_block]
