Professor Duane Brumitt

A FEW WORDS

FROM DUANE BRUMITT

My name is Duane Brumitt and as a partner in education for our community’s children, I wanted to take a moment to commend you on the hard work you do with your students! We truly appreciate all you do!

I also wanted to introduce myself, my academy, and the programs that we are using to instill character in our shared students.

I own Tri-Star Martial Arts Academy and as a Personal Development Center, we strive to use an exciting martial arts program as a vehicle to help instill strong minds, strong bodies, and strong character in all of the children who attend.

This Coming School Year we will again allow local schools to get involved with an opportunity like never before. Imagine for a moment starting the school year with all of your students on board…

Meaning; motivated to learn what you have to teach them and already possessing the proper amount of discipline and respect they will need to make it happen. Does the thought of that interest you?

If so then keep reading…

DO ANY OF YOUR STUDENTS STRUGGLE WITH THESE THINGS?

They have a difficult time paying attention or focusing on the task at hand.

They don’t have a lot of self-confidence. They have a hard time believing they can do things.

They lack self-discipline and even respect for other and sometimes themselves.

Teaching Kids Feels Overwhelming At Times

Luckily there is a simple solution…

Overwhelming and even exhausting does not even come close to describing how you feel as a teacher when attempting to get them to behave, sit still, and even being what we call “present focused”.

The trick to helping your kid(s) is to teach these skills while entertaining them at the same time. Kids love to play and when we introduce these skills, through play, kids will develop them while having fun!

So What Will Your Students Learn & Do?

Well, let me first assure you that we WILL NOT be teaching your students HOW TO FIGHT! There is one main area of focus with three parts for our field trips. Having A GOOD ATTITUDE: The goal is to teach the value of having a good attitude. Success in life is determined, more than anything else, by attitude.

#1: Having A "Whatever It Takes" Attitude

Meaning that you are willing to do whatever is necessary (as long as it is right and moral) in order to achieve the desired results. It’s is the first step in accomplishing great things.

We will not only introduced this concept to the kids but will have exercises and drills to help reinforce it. Helping the kids to take it back to school with them.

#2: Having An Attitude Of Gratitude

Meaning that you think about whatever is lovely, admirable, excellent or praiseworthy. It is taking time to appreciate your life and all the things you have.

We teach the kids to have true appreciation for the things the have in life. Also, they are instructed on how to do a proper hand shake and why it’s SO important.

#3: Being A Good Finder

Meaning whatever happens, try to find the good part by asking yourself, “What’s good about this?” or “How can I benefit from this?”

The kids will discover that even in seemingly bad situations there is almost always some good you can find.
