“If So, Read On…You Might Just Find the Big Breakthrough You’ve Been Seeking for Your Child!”
Rita, age 11, used to be confident…ready to take on the world. But after starting middle school, she seems like a different person: hesitant and unsure of herself.
The peace of the household is frequently disturbed. Everything is a battle: getting ready for school; dinnertime; homework; even things that used to be enjoyable family activities are now potential battles. Screaming matches occur on a regular basis.
Tyler, age 4, does great when he gets it right the first time when learning something new. When he doesn’t get it on the first try, though, he becomes totally frustrated and says, “I’ll never be able to do it!”
Suzanne is constantly down on herself, often saying, “I’m not as pretty as Elizabeth,” or “I’ll never be popular like Marta.”
The teachers say that Charlie can’t focus in school, and might need to be medicated. Nicole and Bryan, his parents, hate that idea. They feel that Charlie just needs to learn listening and focus skills. They are frustrated…how can they build the skills Charlie really needs?
Ryan’s mom, Becky, worries because Ryan is so easily wounded. Things said to him by the other kids at school hurt his feelings so easily. Ryan’s hyper-sensitivity is a constant source of stress for Becky.
Paula is so concerned about being popular. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wilson, worry that this will make her an easy target for negative peer pressure
Mr. and Mrs. Hall are frustrated at the level of disrespect demonstrated by their children. The kids never used to talk like this before! The Halls think, “If I had talked like that when I was a kid — I would have gotten clobbered!”
Scott used to be a nice, kind child. Lately, though, he has become increasingly aggressive. His parents, Vern and Becky, are concerned…and they’ve already had two calls from the school about Scott’s bullying of younger children.
Note: We get reports like these, literally every day, from parents whose kids train at “Duane Brumitt’s Tri-Star Martial Arts Academy”:
…Jenny’s confidence has grown tremendously since earning her Green Belt. Mrs. Phillips, her teacher, has just called to say that Jenny can now stand up in front of the class in school and confidently speak. Mom and Dad are shocked and surprised.
…Not only has Luke gotten into great physical shape…his athletic skill has improved enormously. Luke seems to have a newfound love of being outdoors, playing, and running.
…Lucy said, “Mom, the kids were saying mean things to me at school today.” Mom thinks, “Oh no, here we go again.” — and says, “Well, how did you handle it?” Mom breathes a sigh of relief when Lucy says, “It’s no big deal. Their words can’t hurt me. I learned that in Karate class!”
…Trent, formerly quite a slob, now seems to be taking pride in his appearance. Without being asked, somehow his hair is combed, his shirt is clean, his teeth are brushed. And, not always, but at least occasionally, his bedroom seems to be picked up and clean! Just as Trent is proud of his Martial Art accomplishments, he also seems to take pride in other aspects of his life!
…Joshua, whos school work was at its worse and was getting in trouble weekly at school either for fighting or goofing off has been in the program about 4 months now and he hasn’t had one poor progress report sent home (which we received weekly before) and he is controlling his anger much better according to his teachers. With the martial arts and improving grades, Mom sees him smile a lot more and believes his self image is improving too!
Let me introduce myself. My name is Duane Brumitt owner of Tri-Star Martial Arts Academy. I’ve worked with over 4,000 kids (just like yours!) over the last 20 years. I’m now teaching the children of people who trained with me when they were a kid.
It’s a scary world out there for kids, isn’t it?
Each day we ask our children to face challenges that were unheard when we were growing up.
Overcrowded classrooms. Peer pressure. Violence. Online Bullying. And a level of negativity in our society that can discourage even the brightest and most optimistic child.
And, when our children hopefully man-age to remain physically safe, we can’t help but feel alarmed – wondering if they are maintaining the optimism and the self-esteem they had when
they were younger.
I am writing to you – as one parent to another – with an important message:
It doesn’t have to be this way. A solution exists. And it’s easier than you think.
What would you think if I told you that your child’s levels of Confidence, Energy, and Enthusiasm could be increased – until they become unstoppable?
…Unstoppable in pursuit of:
And…not only will they pursue and achieve these qualities…what if I were to guarantee that they would enjoy the process?
Of course, the “Duane Brumitt’s Tri-Star Martial Arts Academy” system does teach children how to protect themselves (Although not in the hard-core, violent way that you might imagine!)
For example, we teach:
1.) Self-defense strategy: How to avoid dangerous people and situations.
2.) Conflict resolution techniques: Skills that enable your child to live and interact peaceably and harmoniously with others.
3.) And, a simple, but overlooked skill… it’s the single most important factor in keeping your child from being bullied – and we will be teaching this to your child in the very first lesson!
But please… don’t think of this as another “self-defense course” or just an “activity” to keep your child busy.
The emphasis of our curriculum is on developing the skills that EMPOWER them to be TOP PERFORMERS!
Skills like Goal Setting, Self-Control, Personal Self-Discipline, LEADERSHIP. And a level of self-confidence that makes them virtually unstoppable!
You may not realize it . . . but high achievers aren’t born – they are made.
Because of your child’s:
1.) Self control – your child will follow rules and resist negative peer pressure . . . automatically!
2.) Improved focus – your child will listen effectively, and will “zero in” on the task at hand. . . unaffected by distractions!
3.) Unstoppable self-confidence – all types of challenges will be tackled more skillfully; your child will be free to pursue the many opportunities life has to offer – without fear!
How can I say this without getting emotional? I can’t. You have helped our family in so many ways. You don’t stop helping or teaching when you leave the studio. Tobie started Tri-Star just after his father passing away. His confidence level was low, he was acting out in class, and his grades could have been better.
Within the first three months of being at the studio, his teacher called me in for a meeting and said to me that she didn’t know what I was doing at home, but to keep it up. She said his school work had improved 200%, he no longer was disrespectful, and she said his confidence level had much improved.
Tobie is now in fourth grade and is a straight A student and in the gifted program. He respects you so much. He cares what you think of him in the studio and out.
Tobie and Taryn lost their step-father last year. You cared so much about our family that you came and spent time with Kim in the hospital and also came out to the house and visited with him and I. Kim also had much respect for you.
You have done wonderful things for our family that I can not truly thank you enough for. Thank you for having a huge impact on our family’s lives.
God Bless,
“That philosophy will carry into their adult lives as well…”
“With your help, we know that our children will learn the proper manners and respect for other individuals that is so sorely missing in today’s society. You teach our children that they should not blame others for their own failings.
You also instill upon them the confidence in themselves that they need to succeed in life. You teach them that even though they may not do a move or a stance just perfectly, that they should never give up, that true success can only come from repeated trail and error. That philosophy will carry into their adult lives as well.
In closing, my family all feel that we are all benefiting for the better from having met and interacting with you. We the world would be a better place if more people in this world shared your redeeming qualities. Our children and us will live fuller and more rewarding lives for having known you.”.
“We are so proud & happy with Jacob’s progress since starting at Tri-Star. Not only has he learned a lot he has made tremendous improvement with his co-ordination. His self esteem and confidence has also come a long way. Thank you for a well run martial arts program.”
