Try these treatments for your muscle pain:
1. Understanding the causes of muscle aches. Before you can treat a muscle ache, it’s important to understand what caused it. In serious cases, you may need to seek medical attention.

  • Exercise and overexertion are some of the most frequent causes of muscle aches.
  • Sore muscles can also be caused by dehydration and a lack of essential minerals or nutrients.
  • Medications can also cause sore muscles and may need to be adjusted.

2. Heat and cold. Alternating between heat and cold can help you find relief.

  • You can use ice packs or cold compresses, and heating pads. This can help with the pain and swelling in the affected area. In addition, you may want to try a warm shower to help you feel better.

3. Massaging the sore muscle can help you fight pain and improve blood circulation.
4. Muscle aches can be an indication that the muscle needs time to rest and heal. Although it’s tempting to try to push through the pain, it’s important to give yourself time to recover.
5. Tart cherry juice. Researchers have found that this juice can reduce muscle aches.

  • A study titled, “Efficacy of tart cherry juice in reducing muscle pain during running: a randomized controlled trial,” found that this simple juice can help. It can reduce pain and improve muscle strength.

6. Nutrients and minerals. Muscles aches, pain, and cramps can be caused by a deficiency in magnesium, calcium, and potassium. These nutrients are essential for healthy bodies, but it’s easy to become deficient in them. Evaluate your diet. Are you getting enough of these nutrients?

  • Include nuts, seeds, enriched cereals, squash, cherries, oranges, and other sources of these vital nutrients in your diet. It’s important to have a diet filled with a variety of foods that provide vitamins and minerals.
  • You may need to supplement your magnesium, calcium, or potassium intake.

7. Epsom salts. Add Epsom salts to water and use the mixture to soak your achy muscles. Epsom salts can help reduce swelling and pain.

  • It’s important to remember that you shouldn’t ingest the Epsom salts because they act like a diuretic.
  • Consult a doctor before using them if you have serious medical conditions. Epsom salts aren’t recommended for those with diabetes, high blood pressure, or heart disease.

8. Apple cider vinegar. Apple cider vinegar is a popular home remedy that helps fight muscle pain and aches.

  • A small amount of apple cider vinegar can be mixed with water to drink. It may also help to use the vinegar as a rub for sore muscles. To deal with the taste of apple cider vinegar, try adding honey or mint to the water.
  • One tablespoon of apple cider vinegar with a full glass of water may help.

Natural remedies can help you fight muscle aches and make you feel better. However, if you experience severe and ongoing symptoms, seek help from a doctor.
